Interested. Good location.
I live in NYC, How would I be able to attend NYC events? I went to Camjam this year on Sunday.
Can anyone give any "for the people" food options around MSG/Penn Station area? I'm taking my daughter to the Monsta-X concert at the Hulu Theater, and we'll be eating lunch and dinner in the area.
I figured a couple slices of pizza nearby would be a great lunch, but I was wondering if there were any good noodle or Korean BBQ places that aren't too pricey..
I am a fan of Xi'an Famous Foods, solid menu of hot and cold noodles and buns - there are a couple spread across NYC, including one in Koreatown a few blocks from MSG. I have only been to the one in Midtown, which can get a pretty good line going at lunch time but it moves pretty quickly
K Town (to the east of MSG) is obviously ground zero for great K BBQ and various noodles too but all the kbbq Ive seen has been on the pricey side
eataly and the breslin are also not that far from that area and worth considering.
I'm a fan of BCD Tofu House, isn't too expensive and I find the food quite good. Generous appetizer/condiment spread.
Probably not the best place for this but not sure what the best place place would be either.
Anybody interested in a free JBL series 3 subwoofer 10inch that needs a little love. Bought it from Amazon 2 years ago and worked excellent. I have a Roomba cleaner that probably shook it a little bit while doing it’s living room rounds and probably loosened up a contact. The unit turns on and the pass through works. The woofer appears intact. If you’re good with electronics and can fix it is yours for free to pick up on Upper East side.
As per the usual SBAF friends, contributors, acquaintances take priority.
Anybody planning on going to the NY Audio show this weekend. I plan on going but not sure which day yet. Maybe we could do a meetup at the show for those interested.
@Pharmaboy and myself will be there Sunday.
Going on Saturday
i am heading over now. Let me know if you want to meet up at a designated place inside at noon so I can say hello.
Ah crap totally missed this...haven't checked in here all day. Damn underwhelming show for me....the Vanatoo might have been the best sounding rig bang for buck wise. I got a couple of CDs from Chesky anyway. Hope you had a good time!
I've said this before, but it's really hard to have a good speaker show in NYC. I need to organize another NY SBAF meet soon, it's been too long.
It's telling that there's no impressions thread for it.
Not many of us went and I am too lazy to do an impressions write-up.
I also liked the Vanatoo, certainly at that price point. Since I can no longer have floorstanders, I am actually thinking of these as a very reasonable all-in-one solution that will let me avoid a bunch of different boxes in my living room setup without too much sacrifice in SQ.
The only caveat I heard from @Pharmaboy was that they don't sound nearly as good if you bypass the internal DAC and the DSP they use. If that's not an issue, they do seem a really good deal.
Anyone going to the NYC CanJam this weekend? I'll be there Saturday morning.
@Pharmaboy and I will be there on Sunday...looking forward to it.
