I'm looking to replace my aging iPod touch with an iPhone 13 mini, and since I got an iPhone 14 Pro I would love to trade my iPhone 12 Pro for an iPhone 13 mini. Good battery life is preferred and no scratches or dings, But I can replace the battery if necessary. Looking for the 512 GB version of the 13 mini in space gray/black.

My iPhone 12 Pro is in immaculate condition. Not a single scratch or blemish or ding. The white spots in the pictures are just dust particles that are reflecting light. It’s very clean. it has 87% battery capacity as seen in the screenshot. Space Gray color. 512GB capacity. It has been erased and reset as a new phone. it is ATT locked but I believe you can unlock it by calling ATT.

Pictures of my iPhone 12 Pro here

Let me know if you want to trade! :)

I’d make this trade if I had an iPhone 13 mini, but want to give people a heads up on the unlock process with at&t: it’s nearly impossible. They have a form to submit for an unlock, but they never process the requests and give you the run around. I have an iPhone 8 and iPhone XR that AT&T have ignored my unlock requests for years, even when I call to follow up. They just say we’ll escalate this get back to you, but they never do.

Just another data point - I switched 3 phones from AT&T to Verizon at the end of December, and AT&T did their part no problem

    thanks for the data points!

I upgraded from the 12 Pro to the 14 Pro simply because of the better camera. And it is very very slightly better in low light, and worth it to me as I'm a professional photographer, but I don't think it would be worth it to the vast majority of people, who I think would feel the quality is the same.

The rest of the phone functionality wise feels exactly the same, the speed, the screen, it's the same iOS so that feels the same. The biggest difference aside from the camera is that the 14 Pro is substantially heavier and lacks the plain steel side plates of the 12 Pro which make the phone much more beautiful. The 14 Pro lacks that "Rolex" look that the 12 has, being all black.

I'm glad I have the 14 Pro for the subtle camera improvements but there's a price to pay not just in $, and the 12 Pro is really a great phone.

That’s good to hear! That’s much more recent than my experience - I gave up about a year ago. I’m going to try again from scratch with the iPhone XR.

The Halide camera app has a mode where you can shoot 48MP HEIC shots, unlike the stock cam which shoots 12MP binned HEIC shots and will only do 48MP if you switch to ProRaw. That mode in Halide either has less aggressive Apple processing or because there is more raw data the processing is not as visible. I use it for most static shots I take (there is a slight lag between hitting the shutter and the image capture) and the stock camera for shots of moving subjects. If you haven’t checked it out it’s worth playing with.

I shoot almost exclusively in low light with my iPhone, so I use the binned 12mp mode. If I ever get outside shooting I'll try it!

Even dynamic island is more annoyance to me than anything else. I constantly have to swipe to get it to go away or else there are timers or things counting down right in my face all the time.

Another data point: I bought a shitty iphone X (the charging port was basically unusable, wouldn't charge unless it was in exactly the right position) from eBay that was at&t locked. The seller claimed it was an unlocked phone, but when I messaged him and told him the phone wasn't able to be used with my carrier, he had it unlocked within a day.

An aside: the iPhone 13 mini is a fantastic phone. I have a standard 128gb model, and aside from the 4/S and 5/S, I think it's the most beautiful and usable, practical iPhone ever made. I love how light it is, how easy it is to text with one hand, and the OLED screen is gorgeous.

GLWT! I never thought about using one as a DAP, but it does make sense! I use mine for sending data to my Pi2AES, so it's not really a DAP/iPod, but it is my main music device.
