@E_Schaaf - I have nothing against electronic music either, but noticing analog instruments have a much lower presence currently.

I was thinking about instruments and wondering with the thousands of sounds you get through synthesizers whether anyone would bother learning anything besides a keyboard.

taking things a step further - why make any new sounds at all when you can craft anything you can think of using samples of existing content if you listen to enough stuff and build up a library of favorites? That's the J Dilla mentality, which has been completely formative for a wide scope of genres. There's nothing new under the sun. The sequencing and curatorial selection is where the artistry lies

Not trying to be contrarian, just thinking about directions in pop music and hip hop which has pretty much informed pop aesthetic for the last 10 years at least

Motu looks good. Although would prefer not to have a shotgun mic

AT875R works wonders in removing flutter echo and room reverberation while maintaining reasonably natural on-axis response. I use it when video conferencing from the kitchen without wishing to be close mic'd. Otherwise EV RE-20 is an excellent close mic for this purpose. Motu UltraLite mk4 is a great interface.

Yeah, from their solo stuff, soundtracks, collaborations with other artists (The Weeknd/Starboy, Kanye/Yeezus), so many good things.

Yeah, it appears to be bracing and the positioning is to limit resonances. If it was a transmission line it wouldn't have a port all the way to the middle.

uBlacklist for Chrome. One search then blacklist and pinterest will never come up again in search results, except for for the country variants, but those can be blocked as well. Works on all the junk clickbait sites I hate as well. No extra typing required!

@Gazny - just cutting in half and removing seeds. Not an issue with milder peppers but after 20 scotch bonnet there's not much you can do to avoid contact without gloves

@ everyone else - managed to avoid spreading capsaicin anywhere else thankfully. A bonus is that I have carpal tunnel issues and I heard capsaicin is a good treatment

I have had similar experiences with small US companies. I think it comes down to how much the company cares about their brand and if they genuinely made a mistake.
