Thanks for the comments. Have read some of the posts mentioned in the original thread, and will go through the rest as time permits.

As for "how to choose gear", Yeah, read that. Am not really new to high-end audio and trust my ears a fair bit. The trick will be to try to shortlist a few units that i think fit my preferred sound palette.

What happens in a month?

Muppetface keeps talking about some new IEM's that will be coming out soon that are going to blow everyone's minds. Can't say what they are as they are not released yet.

@Vansen Didn't know you were in on the secret as well. I've got enough curiosity that I'm holding off buying anything until i find out. Was going to get UE4 yesterday but am waiting!
