Using a WiiM Pro with Roon since it was certified Roon Ready, I'm hearing better separation vs using Chromecast mode. Placebo? Anyone else? Jul 7, 2023

Oh man - I want Roon in my kitchen and outside with my Bluetooth Soundcore speakers. This could achieve that for a decent price, lol.

I'm using my WiiM Pros (2) to run 2 pairs of outdoor speakers. WiiM Pro's into Modi 3/Magni 3 and Modi MB/Sys to Gjallarhorns. Speakers are Polk Atriums (45 and 8SDi). I've got close neighbors so it's plenty of power. Not critical listening, but sounds surprisingly good.

And I was really surprised at how much separation and definition improved. They got the Roon Ready FW while I was listening to music, so the music stopped playing. I set up the Roon Ready outputs and did a double take at the sound difference vs using Chromecast mode with the WiiMs

Anyone want to take a crack at defining digititus for me? Glossary doesn't have a definition. Urban Dictionary wasn't helpful.

@Thad E Ginathom I was diagnosed with moderate hearing loss recently. It also comes with tinnitus. I've noticed my tinnitus can be aggravated by what I listen to. In hindsight, I think the digititus others have described here is what causes that. I need a little boost in the upper mids to restore what my hearing isn't giving me, but too much, or incohesive tone, and my ears ring and I'm done listening.

@Pescatore ... It takes some practice to get the hang of EQ. Easy availability on the computer screen fools us into thinking that these tools are easy, but they are not. One can completely ruin the sound.

Remember this maxim: it may be better to reduce other ranges than to boost one.

There may well be a relationship between your tinnitus and digititis. Perhaps anything that irritates might trigger it?

I don't have tinnitus experience, just the hearing loss. Do take special care of your ears now: it doesn't get better :/
