I drove 300 miles, with glandular fever (which, even after the main symptoms have subsided, leaves one feeling completely exhausted for about six weeks) to see on in UK. Yes, UK: it was totally cloudy.
I'm in PDX.. about 30 mins north of the path of totality.. didn't venture out as I had work, but the weather was indeed gorgeous.. and the eclipse was as cool as it was eerie. Really fun. It was bonkers here as far as viewing.. like the who damn west coast came here for it.. and by all accounts from those in the PoT, it lived up to the hype.
I had 6 of my closest friends see it up in Oregon. They said it was nothing like they expected. Almost a spiritual experience. One said it made them realize how insignificant we are in the whole scheme of things. 2024 or bust!
