Verum Backer Excitement Thread

I have just noticed, that I am Number 8 on the list of backers.

 

Hi Guys, I see got a dislike for this. Someone please explain what is wrong, as I don't won't to make the same mistake again.

 

Generally speaking, posting stuff like this is just noise. I hate to sound callous, but we don't care who backed what, when it's going to arrive, what condition the box was in when it got there, or how the smell of new headphones gives you a stiffy. Know what I mean? It doesn't further the discussion on these headphones.

My advice would be to put stuff like this on a profile post. Profile posts are kind of the universal anything goes area. With that said, if you put something completely idiotic there, expect dislikes there too.

Second bit of advice, don't freak out about dislikes. It's perfectly acceptable to PM the person who gave you the dislike asking why. Just be super nice about it when you do. Text is lacking in tone of voice, so err on the side of "don't piss people off".

Now, as your question and my reply are both completely off topic, I'll be reporting both to have a mod move them to the gutter section as not to clutter this thread.

 

Thanks @ultrabike, I kinda wanted to say I'm excited to get these. Possibly a planar worth keeping, all of mine were either too expensive to keep for once in a while listening or not good enough. Number three on the list so should get them early.
Now, is the tuning final? No other changes except for pad selection?

@Youngarthur I disliked your post because when I backed the kickstarter I wanted to be first, but it turned out I was only number 5, and then later still I was informed that I was actually 11th! I didn’t feel special anymore but was too afraid to say anything because I thought @JK47 would crawl out from under my bed at night and drop kick me in the oesophagus. I just couldn’t bare the injustice, and clearly couldn’t keep it in any longer, so I lashed out at you...

Okay, seriously, it was just to signpost what is generally considered as noise. For the last week I’ve been trawling speaker forums for useful information. About 49 out of every 50 posts have been completely superfluous or just plain useless to the topic at hand, and that last 1 is usually light on meaningful content. Every day has felt like taking a shit through a McDonalds straw, only in reverse.

SBAF is like the antidote to that, and it is incumbent upon all participating members to keep the ship right lest it turn into the same sort of contentless clusterfuck as most other forums.

Dislikes are sometimes just used as a nudge for newbies. So don’t worry about it too much, and best of luck to you. Though I would recommend that you go and read some of the threads in the the How to Win Friends and Influence People section to see some fine examples of what not to do, you may even be entertained.


As for Verum, it’s the most exciting thing in headphones right now, and I really hope Verum can in time shake the market up. I just hope a right knobdobber like Amir doesn’t show up because Verum rocked the boat, like Schiit did.

 

But, when it ships... post hourly courier-tracking screenshots. After all, everybody wants to know. Right?

It'll be interesting to compare actual delivery times between the Verum and the Massdrop Koss electrostat. Both are projected to take 4 months each. But @Garuspik's situation is that he's creating a production line from scratch for a product that's not even out of beta (if he's not settled on pads yet).
