    For us since the Ferrum brand was introduced, lots of customers like or love the Susvara combo. Previously the NA distributor before the Erco/Wandla came out, was running the Oor off a Topping D90 and man was it a dry/thin pairing. First time I tried the combo of Oor/D90 or just the Erco I preferred the Erco myself since the DAC mismatch with the Oor was pretty lackluster.

    I usually reserve reccing the Oor to folks unless they got or have bunch of planars and if they have a DD collection I will steer them elsewhere at work.

    Purrin. Thank you for the measurements. I have been lurking for years. Purrin is not saying some things but there are signs.

    The song in the thread title sounds like an insider joke.
    The comparison with Pietus was using a lower tier DAC.
    Insipid with dynamics should be the same insipid with planars.
    Purrin put this on the loaner program the same day.
    Purrin has better amps but did not compare Oor to them.

    How many times have I said: I'm not gonna spoon feed you guys or post pieces of shit anymore. That you have to hunt me down for specifics. Anyway, here go you. I purposely did not include any of my EC amps (one setup which I happen to know works extremely well with the LCD-4 or RD-4 @ 2022 Texas meet) because Craig is finally retired and EC amps are no longer obtainable. Mjolnir 3 wasn't in because it's in the other room. Basically everything here is stacked next to my desk for direct back and forth comparison and tabulation.

    Yeah, I'm sure OOR works for HEK and Susvara, maybe a few other high-end high-cost orthos (and even then there is probably better for well under $3k). But for everything else, the Oor/Hypsos kinda sucks. You want me to be honest? The $3k asking is offensive for this level of (non) performance. I'd rather take a DNA Supernaut (even for Sus)

    No, I'm with you on that, it just never stops with audio tweaks. It's a big part of why I was and still am hesitant about buying tube amps, among other things. I don't need to give myself an opening to start throwing hundreds of dollars at NOS tubes on former Soviet eBay (the gacha game of the audio hobby).

    Anyway, this isn't the first review of this I've seen that said or implied that it was kind of dead-sounding, either with dynamic headphones or just in general. This amp's been around a few years - I kind of figured it wasn't getting reviewed for a reason.

    dumbest quote in the thread so far. a magni (anything) never had the balls to make a Meze Elite or Susvara deliver their potential.
    those pairings would be an "embarrassment", despite the fact the individual components (magni amp) or headphone are not embarrassing on their own.

    Susvara and Meze Elite were (at separate times) the two headphones plugged into Oor for 2 years, with little complaint or preference change until hearing the Mjolnir3.

    edit: i never plugged dynamics cans into Oor for serious listening so it’s good that additional pairing information is being revealed.

    I don't study music theory, if you heard the H4+ without pre-knowing the measured results- you'd win.

    also IIRC if mains noise (via Oor) was the issue, goldensound I think measured/reported it was lower using the switcher.
