If I hadn't just bought an Andro, I'd be all over that Spartan.

The Spartans have been sold to the one and only @Huxleigh, and I'm glad they're staying in the community!

Can you recommend the Pono for its sound quality?

I use full-size headphones. The K181DJ so the headphone out is not an issue.

Yes, I think the Pono sounds excellent for its price point. I'm only replacing it because I got the ZX2. I've had the Pono since the original Kickstarter and of all the DAPs I've heard since it's come out, the ZX2 was the only one I felt was worthy of replacing it.

I feel like the Pono is better with full size headphones than IEMs because it has a higher OI, plus you get a lot of power if you run it balanced. And I do recommend running it balanced if you can. It kicks the SQ up.

Be aware that it uses two headphone jacks to run balanced, not a standard balanced connector. Some manufacturers offer Pono compatible cables. I noticed Zach is offering them with ZMF purchases.

HD6X0 + balanced cables + Pono + well mastered files = a wonderful listening experience, imo.

    16-44.1 files are fine.

I can put the Pono in my pocket and be free to move about the house while still having wired headphones and the GUI handy.

Low cost for the pleasure I have gotten out of this setup.

(And this one is black. Not a fan of the yellow myself.)

Yes, the one I'm selling is black as well.

I did not find the Pono to have enough power to do justice to the HD6x0, even balanced, but lots of people do use them together and love it.

Well, there are two things going on here.

One is that the Andromeda's presentation is more in line with my tastes for long term listening. It's very much like speakers. I think headphones are always a compromise compared to well set up speakers, so to have a pair that emulates well done speakers makes the Andros a keeper.

The other consideration was simply financial. I'm considering big boy DACs to put into my speaker rig and the Vegas fetch a higher price.

Anyway, the Vegas are sold, but I still have several items for sale. Anyone who has been wondering what to do with the iPhone 7 or future iPhones should strongly consider the Sine with Cypher Cable. I think it's an excellent portable solution.

I think it would be best if you started a new thread for whatever is left now. I'm moving this to the archive.
