Power supply is larger than the dac1321.

Can you give me the specifics? would love to try it on the dac1541

@Cellist88 You can't really do the same thing with the dac1541 as easily and it probably wouldn't provide nearly as much benefit. You'd have to bypass the IRM-05-5 modules mounted on the board and I'm not sure how you would do that.

a DAC gives slam? have only heard amps or cans that significantly change slam. what is the rest of this chain?

Rest of the chain is Saga (with Sylvania VT-231) > Sherwood 6040 > Klipch KI-396-SMA-II

Isn't @Clemmaster rocking a linear with one of these now as well?

I'm using an UpTone LPS-1 (super capacitors). Slam is indeed a big improvement, even over the DAC1421 and its internal SMPS! Now I'm kinda torn because the improvements the LPS-1 made to the DAC1321 can't be replicated on the 1421, but quite intoxicating (blackground, slam and bass definition).

@soekris How hard is it to bypass the internal power on the dac1421/dac1541?
