The digital filter in the DAC is not there to mimic the "analog world". It's a f'ing interpolator. Cirrus! Control your f'ing marketing people!
The ideal f'ing interpolator IS SYMMETIRCAL AROUND THE MAIN TAP, INFINITE, AND NOT f'ing CAUSAL!!!!! WHICH IS WHY YOU NEED AS MUCH PRE-RINGING! DAMIT!

For Maximum Phase filter on top of a random phase filter use a reverb machine. Sonic bliss guys. Sonic bliss.
