    You could get a similar but potentially better effect from a used Stax SRS-3100 system, perhaps, if the price was right.

    ^Same question re: the SRS3100. I've been curious about the sound one gets from electrostats and have seen this model recommended elsewhere, haha.

    I honestly don't know, as I have never needed to buy that- but in local money, a tidy used setup for £400 sounds like a good price, totally approximate finger in the air. (The headphones will scale higher than the included amp, but it's a good starting point for a taste of the sound.)

    Have a look at how much they cost in your part of the world and knock 40% off for a sane used price maybe? Stax stuff tends to sell well, and hold a decent price, but does come up regularly if you're in no rush.
