So, so true. My experience as well.

I had to wrap socks around the headband in two spots split away from the middle so that it wouldnt just rest on the crown of my head, which helped, but even that would eventually bother me. and with the HD650s, they have a split in the padding naturally which is cool, but they eventually bother my head too, though less than the 800s did, i actually find the 650s more comfy

weirdly enough, this is kind of driving me to look at getting another paid of HE-6s, since i could put Vegan pads on them, and get one of that Lohb guys suspension straps for them, and suspension straps like on the 009s never bothered me

Sounds like SR-009s (or SR-007s) are beckoning.
