Ddduuuuuudddeee, they’re last two have both been AOTY contenders for me, stunning work. Their first is basically a Tool album, but it’s good too. Can’t wait for Lotus to come out in a month

They are definitely inspired by Tool. Their sound is not as heavy and intense though. They still have an original sound. I would say tighter, faster and smoother. Thing is I need a track like "Vicarious" or "Cafo" (Animals As Leaders) to really convince me. Maybe their most recent album will have something like that. Sometimes I just have to hear those two tracks...

Listening to these guys now. Definitely Tool inspired, but less dark and twisted. Good recco, thanks for sharing guys!

Though even after years on the scene, any press for them usually still includes "THEY HAVE OPETH'S OLD DRUMMER!!!"

Riverside is also similar and good.

@Deep Funk, as a heads up they're coming to Effenaar for the 2 day Prognosis festival in march!

Other proggy bands I like are Caligula's Horse and Leprous if anyone wants to check them out too :P
