Android auto head unit is all screen, with just volume buttons, no knob. If I hook up a rotary encoder to an Arduino, and hook that up to the steering wheel controls input on the head unit, I should be able to control volume like that. If that works, then I have a functional volume knob. Just need to figure out where to mount it.
Now it seems like most of these DSP things for cars are unneeded, unless going with active crossovers and such, as most head units have a ton of DSP built in. I can actually do an active crossover with my head unit if I were to sacrifice my rear speakers.
But I just bought a 4 channel amp, debating weather to use that for front/back speakers, or throw in my minidsp 2x4 and run the front woofers/tweeters actively off that, and run rears of head unit...
