MFW guitar amps are designed intentionally to distort, even the solid state ones.

Yes, I also had seen that Resolve was startled by the SQ of the Pendant amp, which is why his joining in on the tube amp bashing was disappointing. Resolve is honest in wearing his biases on his sleeve, so I appreciate that and haven't given up on him.

I appreciate Resolve as well as Metalfi. They are probably the only YouTube reviewers that put real effort into their impressions with measurements and EQ experimentation to boot.

I do think Resolve has been overly dismissive of tube gear but it seems that the Pendant review has him rethinking things. He probably still leans toward SS gear. I’m glad the channel exists though. It’s way better than anything else out there. Hopefully they don’t retreat fully back into the “any distortion no bueno” camp.

I appreciate Resolve, but I can't say that I'm a fan. His tastes may not line up with mine, so his reviews are more food for thought and challenges to assumptions than touchstones. His long form interviews are nicely done, and it will be interesting to see if over time they get outside of Resolves comfort zone.

I'm not so sure about Metal571. What I've seen of him on a couple of headphone show appearances has not inspired me to seek out his work.

He also interviewed Dr. Fang Bian of Hifiman. It is early days for this incarnation of his you tube career, so I don't know that he has that much of a history with the interviews, but he does OK on the couple that I have seen. If he develops this skill and gets a wide variety of figures to do half hour interviews, that woiuld be good. dsavitsk would be cool.

Best guest is always darthpool. 2nd harmonic distortions are too important for my listening experience, just don't think the science has caught up yet in regards to sound from a psychological perspective.
