Richard Stallman was right!
That doesn't bode well if it is true.
Qobuz > Tidal unless some stuff you like is only on Tidal. Next month I pay for my $150/yr membership of Qobuz. It's a bargain.
Lots of albums show up as MQA only, been that way for many months. Poor move on their part. Many of their version of albums are not up to the CD rips I have compared them to. Consider those a step up from MP3 but not always as good as CD quality.
I would not doubt it. Tidal started and continues as an artist friendly streaming platform. MQA had some copyright security built in. It might also be MQA pushing their system as well - "all in or none." To me, it is just more limiting for the end user.
I just want Red Book. Why is it so hard to just let me continue to stream it? Come on, Tidal.
Seems like their email promotion I received yesterday was strategic to tell their shareholders huge subscriber numbers while "protecting ip". At the same time showing I prefer the Masters tier and influencing me to pay more for the service because they are removing albums from their catalog if I don't.
