I find a flashlight much more practical inside/outside the house, than a knife, but mastering flipping open a non-automatic knife and closing it one-handed is satisfying.
Maratac single AAA on my keychain gets used a lot. Benchmade Mini-Grip is always in my pocket and gets used every single day. Easy to get carried away with collecting these things though.
I hate all this button pressing to get different powers of light. It should be continuously variable! he Nitecore SRT series is perfect for this, with a rotating ring to select intensity/function. Don't think any other torch has it. And Nitecore seem to have dumped the range :(
I have four. Two little ones, bedside and on-the-desk. One larger for outside. Another, sadly, died young, which was disappointing for a Nitecore product.
I got into flashlights a few years ago. I have a lot of friends who work in the trades, so it has become my default Xmas present for many of them. Olight gets a lot of flak in the enthusiast community, but they are great for gifts for the nonenthusiasts. I carry a Lumintop EDC18 myself (SST20-4000k)
