I learned this trick back in the early 90's when I worked audio retail. I think one of the company reps mentioned it. It would get so bad without it you'd get a nasty zap every time you touched a volume knob. After application the problem would go away for several weeks. Typical Winter would take 3-4 applications. Made the store smell like a laundry room.

I guess I could also keep my Zerostat around and give it a zap every so often.

I never had this problem with audio gear, but I used to get it with car-door handles! I learned to touch the car with the flat of my hand first, and *not* reach out for the handle with my fingers.
