New Isoacoustics stands helped especially in cleaning up the mids, but not enough. Certain notes esp in the mid/upper bass just resonate like a mother.

Could you put a desk mat down to help? I do imagine that would be pretty rough. I forget, still running LS6?

Kind of defeats the purpose of the desk, at least aesthetically. I might see if my wife will switch desks - she has a wood/MDF topped standing desk. Hoping that might help. Was using my recently purchased P3ESRs, but decided to try the LS6 today and they actually resonate less than the P3, even though they have way more bass extension.

Wondering if it’s the sealed cab on the P3, or maybe just the lighter weight (compared to the LS6) allowing resonance to more easily excite the desktop.

Have you tried the ISO stands or pucks? They're very effective and look fine...especially the pucks. I use them on my P3ESR XDs and they improve the imaging nicely (I have mine on stands). I would think the pucks would help with resonance. You're also going to be fighting reflections on the desk, though.

Hey @Justin S see 2nd post. Have them on ISO-155 stands for the last couple days. Cleaned up mids and imaging big time for sure, but still bad bass resonances.

@rlow , ah. Sorry, I did not twirl down the responses. Glass is challenge for sure. I imagine with the P3ESRs where the cabinet resonance is part of the sound of the speakers, it would really become difficult to stop that from ringing the glass.

@rlow yeah the sealed cabinet makes nearfield use a bit tricky, and things very sensitive to tweaks. I realize you already went the isoacoustics route. But getting some Herbie's Fat Dots under my LS3/5a yielded good results.

Are you using the "short" or "long" version of the poles for the ISO stands? I wonder if using the long version would help clean it up a bit more as it would be further from the desk surface?

@zonto using the short rods. Good idea, will give the long rods a try but man they are pretty long, couldn’t really use them like that I don’t think.

Yeah. I'm tall so to get things at tweeter height that aren't angled like my Vanatoo T0 I think I'd need to switch to the long rods. Another approach would be to try and high pass the speakers and then route the rest to the sub. I remember before I added a sub to my T0 my desk vibrated more. Still not perfect, but way better than it was with the HPF engaged.
