head-fi doesn't have a monopoly on bullshitting, we just keep it in appropriate threads. no one here likes MQA, people mostly just dog piling about it isn't surprising.
It's not evidence in a court of law. There are several posts that explain why people are venting. I admit that, while venting, I'd forgotten some of the details why. The [alleged] facts are there as well as the venting.
It's pretty sad that this forum is being dragged down by people who have misunderstood the headline and think MQA is over when the only news is that the parent company is restructuring.
The streaming companies define a lot of our audio experience and we should be able to have a conversation about the companies and future developments without always being dragged down to "me think MQA bad, you say so or shut up". Anyway, I'll try to raise the standard with a new thread.
No one wants to rehash mqa for the Nth time. You seem to want an enlightened discussion of the merits of mqa, when it has no such merits, it’s bullshit snake oil as Merrick has said. No one is telling you to shut up, we’re telling you to stop acting holier than thou.
I make occasional use of Spotify. If I want to hear a song I'll even use youtube. I don't use streaming to explore music. Streaming is not relevant for me when discussing MQA.
I don't agree that the forum, or the thread, is being "dragged down."
I do, however, agree with @Woland on this: the company is being restructured, sold, whatever. MQA might, or might not, survive that. It depends if anyone wants it and thinks its financially viable.
Whether the time has come to dance on MQA's grave, or not, remains to be seen.
