But no, my ears hurt after half an hour, no matter what tips I use. It’s very hard for me to get good fit, probably partly due to earwax—inserted only slightly imperfectly, the ear canal is blocked and I only hear muffled sounds.

I’m looking for something better to replace my Bose QC 35 II and thought maybe I could go for AirPods Pro, so I tried my daughter’s Gen 1 for an evening. It was quickly evident that I can’t go that route. :-(

So maybe I’ll try the Focal Bathys now, but as seldom as I use my Bose, I’m not sure at all if it’s worth the money, even B stock for € 600,–. Maybe I’ll just keep the Bose.

@ColdsnapBry Could be an alternative, yes, but as a lover of Focal’s house sound, my natural first attempt is the Bathys. And that B stock isn’t much more expensive than the APM.

Reached a decision and ordered the Bathys now. Let’s see if I like it. :)

If they’re good, they might replace the Mini C (closed back/mobile duty) and the Bose (ANC/BT/mobile duty), and render the RU6 and Bolt superfluous (mobile duty).

I recently tried FatFreq Maestro Mini and UM Indigo and both were super comfy. FatFreq is very lightweight.

I just tried the CFA trifecta and I’m brave enough to say I really liked it.

My ears just hurt with IEMs inside, very quickly. I finally accepted now that it is pointless to try new ones again and again.
