It runs and then restarts. It might do this a couple of times, after which it might then run ok for several hours.

I'm don't have anything against USB, even for audio, but one problem is that, when USB stuff goes wrong, it's hard to tell which end has the fault

I've changed port/cable at the PC end. In fact, currently running off a powered hub. But it is still giving fault.

I've been in a microphones-centric Discord server for a while picking up a few things and it seems MOTU interfaces are known to develop odd problems over time, though not to the same extent as the entry level Focusrite Scarletts.

maybe the hub is not giving it enough amps and it is rebooting?

Previously, the hub was not in use. That's when problem first showed. It was connected to USB-C on PC. Tomorrow I will get a cable C to A to try other onboard ports

Have done a kernel upgrade today. Just a chance something might have been changed in the previous one.

I think that power supply might be part of the problem (in which case, the PC port which was powering it fine for a couple of years must have changed). I also think that one of my plugins might be.

Still hoping that it is not the Motu hardware.
