Most are pretty cash grabby, I agree. It's pretty much like how Hollywood will make moneys off of pre-teen/teen novels.

From my understanding Miura is done and has been done with it for awhile but the issue is serialization. I could be wrong though. End of Eva was awesome.

I'm not sure about being finished. He's supposed a huge perfectionist, so maybe he constantly goes back to redraw finished material? He's been good at making some releases the last two months though.

If you are truly out of anime some below to consider:

    Arslan Senki
    Aldnoah Zero
    Akame ga Kill
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (oldie but goodie)

Madhouse is doing a WONDERFUL job with One Punch Man so far. Episode 3 was amazing. Highly recommended.

One Punch Man is hilarious. I'm caught up on the scanlated manga, though it's like a ways behind the actual manga I've heard. It's funny how many people don't believe he's this unholy ass kicker.

Had to post this short video of the anime Nichijou -easily one of my top 3 favorite anime series of all-time. It is a funny and all-around "feel good" anime series comedy. (No worries if you watch the video or ever decide to watch the series, this video has no spoilers, it is just a funny scene from episode #1.

Just started watching Legend of the Galactic Heroes, an oldie for sure (1988-1997). A friend recommended it and so far it's a little simplistic and heavy handed, but I'm only 8 episodes in of 110 + OVAs/etc.

Has Tower of God been confirmed for anime? I know the issue with Tower of God is that it is not a manga but a manhwa (korean manga).

Just finished watching Death Parade and I thought it was really impressive. Definitely made me think and does a great job luring you in. Needs a 2nd season though.

Give it a bit, it picks up quite a bit around the 20-25 episode mark. Truly a masterpiece IMO. Hope the remake is at least faithful.

That show really is a contender for the GOAT title, you'll wish it was longer when you're done. Thats quite the list @chakku . Here's mine: http://myanimelist.net/animelist/HitmanFluffy

I've stepped off most of the seasonal stuff these days. I realized that most of it is pretty awful and the time is better spent watching the classics.

I'm a huge fan of Gurren Lagann and Kill la Kill. Love the over-the-top and satirical nature of both shows.

Attack on Titan is great too, but for different reasons.

Other than that, I find I'm pretty picky about anime and find most of it too cliched, stereotypical, stupid, blah blah blah. (Funny, cause I grew up obsessed with it, took Japanese classes, traveled abroad there for a couple weeks, but damn can anime get on my nerves at times.)

Yeah the vast majority of it takes itself too seriously or panders to a pretty specific "target demographic" (read: obsessive teenage/young adult geeks) these days. Its a different beast from anime from the 80s-90s (Boom era Japan with a large base of free-spending salarymen).

No mention of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure? It truly stands out from the myriad of unremarkable WSJ series. Part 4 (the best part imo) will be adapted sometimes next year.
