Hybrid electrostatic headphones for $249?

Dayum.

Kinda curious if they could be salvaged thru mods like the entry level Kingsounds which actually turned into little well behaved beasts when wrestled into submission (is Project Blackbeard still a thing...??).

But then we could both hear the potential in the Kingsounds.

From the sound of it, these might be beyond salvation, huh?

I think there is some guy modding these over on HF, but I don't think I see much potential. Who knows, you may love 'em

I need to track down the Blackbeards. They had some issues, but for the money the modded headphones were starting to sound good. I think Cee Tee or ZeroD or someone has them in a box somehwere. I'll track them down and see if we can't mess around with them.

 

I'm not sure they even sound that good. The bass is so bloated and humpty dumpty I can't even figure out where it rolls off.

 

Does he have distortion results for other headphones to compare against? Those sorts of results look suspect, like someone that hasn't figure out how to get proper distortion results...
