I can see how the + might lead you to think that it is better. Probably would have been better to call it the GO2a and GO2b (b for battery), but they had the V2 naming scheme going from the start so I get it.

Don't worry. Naming will transition in the future to a clearer schema.

As down as I am on LH Labs in general and their support in particular, I'm extremely impressed with my GO2a. Balanced out to my HD650 made me not miss by Bifrost Multibit and Polaris at all. Thanks again to @zerodeefex for helping get things straightened out.

well, I see the update now - a pre order announcement. as much as i'd like to get a GO2A, I dont want my saved up money being used to yank me around. its why i skipped on the V2/V2+ indigogo campaign.. have things been better lately?

The funny thing is I got really busy and didn't do anything. They just realized you were promised something from a CS rep you shouldn't have been and after it was escalated (although it took a long time).

If you're skeptical, why not wait until they're in stock, ready to ship? I never order something via preorder if I can avoid it. There's no benefit other than a slightly shorter wait time.

Yeah, I'm gonna wait. Hopefully not too long until its in stock!
By the way, is the fact that they have "Pre order now!" on the page but no actual link still because someone messed up the page update? Or was it like an email sent to old customers only?

Just giving everyone a heads up, We are working on the GO2a site to prepare for a pre-order sale. It was down to make some changes over the weekend but a buy button will not available yet.

Well, I tried to change my response because I didn't want to upset anyone. I wasn't trying to CYA. I said nothing wrong or inappropriate if you read my post. But apparently I hit Zerodeefex's sensitive nerve and I was attempting to ameliorate that by changing my speculative post. He is an LH Labs volunteer so perhaps that's it. I actually had reason to speculate as to why the web page for ordering the new GO2A was down because there was a problem with my GO2A. I sincerely thought there might be a problem or that perhaps there was still some planning going on. Yes, I was speculating but that doesn't make me a "tool". I was trying to be sensitive to Zerodeefex's emotions/feelings by taking it down but I could not, so I edited my response in like 2 minutes after posted it. Zerodeefex's then sought to keep it alive by republishing my remarks and being sort of righteous with me. I want sincerely apologize to anyone that I've offended. It's certainly not what I intended. I never stated that I knew something that I did not. I was speculating and stated that "I suspect" but I will be more circumspect. It was a good lesson for me. And I have learned. Peace to all.....

No need to defend yourself. You speculated and I posted the real events that happened. Me being a jerk wasn't indicative of you doing wrong, that's just me. I think you're reading more into stuff than you need to online.

One more thought: this is a forum where we all make mistakes. Marv, me, hell everyone has posted something crazy stupid and many of us choose to leave it up after we eat crow. It's part of the culture here to leave posts up rather than try to cleanse the internet.

I wanted to post a follow up on my experiences with the GO2A. This device is ready for prime time and finally the case matches the beast within. I used it today as a DAC (source Tidal iPhone 7) into Vali 2 and out into HE400S or as I like to call it the @jexby "office special". Once I figured out the right mix of settings (thanks to jexby) it was fantastic. As @Merrick wrote about in his well-written "ramblings", the GO2A DAC is really similar in sound to Moby. Add on a great amplifier for such a tiny size and it is easily the best product from LH that I owned (GO1000, GOV2 and GO2A). The SE out to the HE400S is not that far behind the Balanced out in terms of plankton. The USB filtering was stepped up and the background is pitch black. I have come to realize I have a negative emotional response to sources with high jitter. I experience an unease and struggle with not wanting to just relax and listen to the music. I experienced this to some degree with the GO1000 and the GOV2. I did not have this experience today, in fact I couldn't wait to get back to my desk and listen to GO2A Vali 2 system, I didn't change tracks I just listened and enjoyed it immensely.

I understand the justified issues people have with LH's customer service etc. I had an overall decent experience with the upgrade. All of my emails were answered in a reasonable amount of time, it just took longer than was promised, The earlier reviews here helped me to be patient because this really is a great DAC/AMP especially given the size and SE/BAL outs.

If you are new to their product line and have the need for a portable yet powerful DAC/AMP then I would try to get in on the presale that is apparently starting soon.

The randos and newbies just need to realize that @jexby and @zerodeefex are just passionate about this company and its products. Based upon my experience with the GO2A, I know they are justified and correct to feel this way. Plus everyone should know around here that if you say something stupid or crazy you WILL get called out. Just take your lumps and read moar before posting next time.

... did infant-hellscape Ravi get hit on the head, or maybe get 8 uninterrupted hours of sleep, and become shiny-happy Ravi? Either way, kudos!

Great news is this is mostly behind us now (we still have handful of people to get out due to late turn in)
But GO2A is doing pretty well, FYI there is a reservation launch on GO2a website, you can get $30 off right now for reserving.

I our tech support is finishing this up and looks like we have about four to five to send out today to complete this. :)

I just got an email about the signature edition gov2. Since I'm probably going to get the gov2a at retail since I can't find one for sale. Should I spring? Have you heard it @zerodeefex ? What is a Femto clock?

    Using hd650s.

am hoping LH Labs granted me one of the first 6 GO2A Special Edition. heck they nabbed my quotes for the web site ha!
so, you can buy my Mint but used red GO2A soon. ;)

the femto and caps add a bit more black background, detail with smoothness and realism compared to regular models IMO.

worth the price delta? IMO only if knowing you'll keep the SE model long term. as I will be.

I'll pick one up and do the family shot with the Geek Out SE and the Geek Out V2+ SE.

@Manny Torres Just a heads up - if anyone tries to install the Geek Out software/drivers AFTER they get the Windows 10 Anniversary update (1607 update), IT WILL NOT WORK.

"....the driver will not work unless you manually disable driver signature enforcement or find a driver that is digitally signed."

"Yes, the Windows version 1607 "Anniversary" update basically shut the door on unsigned or improperly signed drivers. If the driver was installed before the 1607 update, then I think they will still work. Also, properly signed drivers with dates that were signed before Windows 10 should also install fine even with the 1607 update.

The only reason I know all this is that our Out Of Your Head software uses two drivers and we used to be able to sign our own drivers. Now we can't. We had to upgrade to a much more expensive code signing certificate and then we have to send our driver to Microsoft for approval and they have to sign our drivers. I bet a lot of manufacturers are getting caught "off guard" with this major change in driver signing."

I have no idea what the price is. The only thing I've seen is the $120 upgrade to the $1000 GOv2 SE to GO2A SE.

$1000? Do you need sub picosecond jitter from your USB interface? Do you need the best little portable DAC/amp?

99% of you are better off with the plain regular unit. I'd say the $299 one is right for the HD650.
