Our two possible dates are Sept 24 (saturday) or Sept 25 (sunday, after 1:30pm). Any preferences?
I'd love to participate but it looks like I won't be able to - I have ankle surgery next week and will be on crutches and unable to drive for the next month or two. If someone's driving in from NJ, I'd love to hitch a ride, and I'd gladly pay for gas, tolls, and parking. Otherwise, I hope you all have a great meet. Thanks, @thegunner100, for putting this together, I very much appreciate it.
Ahh darn. In case someone is coming from NJ, which part are you located in?
I'm in Montclair, which is close to the NJ Parkway and a couple of miles from route 3, which goes into Manhattan through the Lincoln tunnel.
Is this still the proposed location?
Regardless, I'll be there
Yes, the same location in Long Island City.
I’ll vote for Saturday.
Montclair, famous for having the most radio ads for car dealerships! I joke, i joke. It is actually very nice, we have family there.
Looking like it'll be Saturday, Sept 24. I'll make a separate thread once our time slot is locked in.
Also, the NY Audio Show is happening this year on Sept 9 and 10. Anyone interested in going?

I have tix for Saturday, I'll probably be going with @Pharmaboy . Happy to meet up if timing works for everyone.
I'd love to go hear different rigs but I also hate when the hearing impaired are in charge of volume levels. I'd hate it, wouldn't I?
IME, volumes are more often quiet than loud.
Can you please add me to the list?
I just found out I'm out for Saturday, I might see if I can switch to Friday though.
But to your question, my 1st step is always to turn the volume all the way down before listening an adjusting as needed.
I've heard it mentioned that raising the volume to higher than normal listening levels at shows can be beneficial to overcome a less than ideal listening environment, but it is common courtesy to turn it back down when through IMO.
To the opening post or the meet?
just the opening post, thanks. I will probably be attending the NY Audio Show on the 9th.
I'll be at the NY Audio Show later today, time TBD. If you guys are there and want to meet up, PM me or call/text if you have my phone number! I'll be wearing the grey SBAF cat shirt.
I just stumbled upon a CD and vinyl record expo that does the monthly rounds of NYC (Manhattan), Westchester, Strong Island, north and central Jerz, as well as near Philly: http://www.showsandexpos.com/. Does anyone know if it's any good? I'll attend one of the upcoming events and will report back.
