Once you have a working copy, you can file the card away somewhere so its ready if you ever need it. So testing it is the only "extra" time spent. And you save yourself the frustration of trying to figure stuff out with a broken pi system, you just need to pop in your emergency sd card and you'll be back up.

I have an album that is one long 60min song and bubbleUPNP just stops playing it about 3 times through the album. Not “pausing” the song but completely stopping and loosing its place in the song and when I open the phone it’s reset to the beginning of the song. So to listen to the whole album I have to restart it 3 times and guess where I was in the song.

Is that a MoOde issue or a BubbleUPNP issue? Anyone know how to fix it? It's a damn good album!

Separately, my Samsung S10 that I only use for BubbleUPNP has started losing the ability to connect to Tidal or Qobuz about once every 12-24 hours and I have to restart it. Anyone know why that's happening?

I tried to find an app or something that would just restart the S10e when it's plugged into power because that would take care of it, but couldn't' find anything like that.

    Cheers!

Apologies. I have no knowledge of these things, so I can't offer help. I hope someone can help you solve it.

I follow with interest the issues with UPNP because I don't use it but worry I may be forced to some day. It seems to frustrate many people. I hope that a better solution will present itself, but I'm not holding my breath.

when I used my S10e I seem to remember there was something in the settings where you could schedule your phone to restart (I had mine set to restart every Sat @ 3a)... but I can't seem to find that in the S22 I have now. I'll keep looking and update if I find it

FWIW, I ditched Bubbleupnp a little over a year ago and haven't looked back. Mconnect has proven to be much more robust than Bubble every was... I use it with qobuz and both moode and hqplayer embedded at the office. The only caveaut is that it would drop the audio stream if I rec'd a notification... flawless if notifications are turned off (which is how I use it with a dedicated device).

On the first issue: have you made sure BubbleUPNP isn't going to sleep on you? Scroll down to 'Preventing your Android app from sleeping' and 'Samsung users' here:

    https://smsautoforwarder.com/how-to-prevent-android-app-from-going-to-sleep/

On the second issue: either reboot your phone daily (you could do this automatically like @dasman66 's suggestion above), or periodically (or after every listening session) force-close the app and/or empty its cache.

Did BubbleUPNP just stop working for anyone else right after the latest update? I can scroll through artists and albums but it won't play anything, the pause button shows for a second and then the play button shows again and it just sits there.

When I go to MoOde local, and just press play it shows this error:

which makes me think my MoOde card got corrupted, but it happened right after the BubbleUPNP update, and when I try Mconnect on my iPhone it plays just fine to the same Pi2AES and the same MoOde card.

But I can't use Mconnnect, I really hate the UI, Artists are how I browse and think about my library (also why I can't stand Roon, which is all album based) and artists are the furthest away from the Home Screen in Mconnect as possible, the last thing.

But more importantly, there is no fast scroll, and my library is way to big to try to manually scroll through it, it would probably take 10 minutes of scrolling. BubbleUPNP's disappearing fast scroll is already annoying enough, I wish they both just had scroll bars that were permanent on the right side.

Any fix for BubbleUPNP if anyone else's stopped working? I hate to erase it and download it again, and loose all my settings.

I've just checked BubbleUPnP 4.3.1.2 here and all is fine.

^ Thanks. As the error message at MoOde local suggests, it seems to be a problem connecting to Tidal, it plays Qobuz just fine. I'm not sure what to do to fix it though.

I don't use Moode or Tidal so unable to help. Qobuz is fine as is streamer/server.

It seems it is a problem with the latest update for some users

The manufacturer of BubbleUPNP says this on their forum (which I just found)

"This issue is a regression in v4.3.1, for some users. I'm making a hotfix version 4.3.1.2"

And I just discovered that BubbleUPNP only auto updates 7 days after an update is released, and the developer released a "hotfix" for this issue yesterday and I updated BuibbleUPNP and it works now! yay

So if you get this problem, you just need to manually update BubbleUPNP. Looks like I should have done more googling before posting here, but maybe this will help someone else.

Fans of USB Audio Player Pro (Android) will know that it's a great player for content on their phones, whether or not a USB dongle-DAC is attached or not. They probably also know that for a while it's had UPnP renderer capability, and is able to play music from a local UPnP server (and Tidal and Qobuz) to their phone.

They might not know that the latest version (7) has added control-point capability, so the app can now be used as a remote to play local-server UPnP, Tidal & Qobuz content to other UPnP renderers on the local network (eg a Raspberry Pi with an audio HAT). Content can be served straight from the source to the renderer without modification, or through the app for upsampling etc..

I'm a little thick-headed right now... so this will serve the same function as Bubble or Mconnect? If so, then I have to give it a try... bubble has never run smoothly for me and I don't care for the mconnect interface (although it is rock solid in performance for me)

Yep. From UAPP's drop-down main menu button at top left, select UPnP/DLNA server to find your local server - or select Tidal or Qobuz if streaming from either of those - and then select Cast, which should show your connected renderer(s).

I'm trying this out (wish there was a trial version...) and I have it playing qobuz to my pi, but can't quite figure out how to get it to scan the music files on my NAS. Choices are FTP, Samba v1, Samba v2/3 & webdav. I'm used to entering in the path using "normal" network addressing to a directory (ie.... \\servername\music\flac) and I'm not sure how to use any of thse options (tried all of them)
    -----edit-----
using webdav gets me closest to working... but I get an error: " java.security.cert.CertPathValidatorException: Trust anchor for certification path not found". My nas is a synology and has webdav server running. But to be honest, using webdav makes no sense to me since I'm on the local network. I'm used to only using webdav to hit something remotely
    -----edit2-----
NVM... I'm an idiot sometimes most of the time

@dasman66 I don't have any NAS - just using the UPnP server on my PC - so apologies in advance if this suggestion made in ignorance doesn't work or if you've already tried it. Do you have a UPnP server on your PC that sees your NAS, or that can be configured to do so? If so, I imagine you could use that instead of trying to play directly from the NAS.

Edit: oops, I missed your 2nd edit. Does that mean you got it working?

If you mount your NAS as a network share in Windows it will probably be Samba.

yep... for whatever reason, media server wasn't running on the NAS and I was trying to access the files as a network share. As soon as I got Synology Media Server running, it fired up immediately via DNLA.

Comments on UAPP vs mConnect interface:
    1. The UAPP player interface is nicer than mConnect, especially since the back "button" on the tablet actually takes you to the previous page (instead of mconnect trying to completely close the app)
    2. the qobuz interface isn't as full featured as mConnect. I'm used to being able to filter the "discover" pages based on genre in mconnect. UAPP doesn't appear to have this capability (or at least, I haven't found it yet). This is close to a deal breaker for me when it come to qobuz (nice to filter based on what I'm in the mood to listen to... and so many genres I have absolutely no interest in)
    3. dnla browsing between mConnection and UAPP is basically identical (other than the back button action in UAPP mentioned in item 1). I guess this is as expected since I assume it is simply serving up what Synology is sending it
If I can figure out the genre filtering in qobuz then I'll definitely move to UAPP. If not, then I'll probably stick with the idiosyncrasies of the mconnect interface.
    ------edit-------
other advantage of UAPP is that you don't need two different versions of the app to handle portrait and landscape orientation like mconnect requires

Tried using UAPP for a week and the other "deal breaker" for me is that I have to back out of the player reselect "Cast" everytime I pause the music for a few minutes (haven't figured out the timeout length yet). If I don't do this, then it pops up asking me if I need to connect a USB dac or if I want to play locally.

Mconnect remembers the "play to" setting until changed (or the destination is no longer available)... IMO, all players should make this a "sticky" setting.

Other than this and the qobuz missing genre filtering, UAPP has the superior interface and would be my player of choice.

I'm a moron trying to install a Gentooplayer on a RPI with USB out to my DAC, using it for streaming qobuz.

Literally, the first question it asks is: what is the IP address of the PC-Server with Gentooplayer, and what is the IP address of the PC-player with Gentooplayer? Wouldn't they both be the same RPI address since that's where I'm installing it?
