WTB Yggdrasil A1/GS cards

Awaiting arrival of recently purchased Yggdrasil A2, and would like to try the A1 cards, as I think they would be more in line with my tonal preference. Will also purchase the MIL-F cards when they are released.

 

Have some I don’t use but i’m in EU.

 

Set pending from Canada, will confirm on weekend.

 

A1 is the best way to Yggdrasil.

 

Do OG A1 boards need a firmware update to get to “GS” level?

Next post says you can get a firmware ROM for $35 (not sure if that’s still available or not).

Yes, the firmware chip is still available for $35. I just bought one last month.

 

Seller is including the GS chip, but I would assume a factory A2 Yggdrasil would already have the updated rom chip with the "glitch fixed"?

 

Yes, A2 already has the updated firmware to fix the glitch. It comes standard with the A2.

On the A1, you need to install the new ROM chip to update the firmware and fix the glitch.

I have the ROM chip, but I haven’t had a chance to install it yet. FWIW, the “glitch” is not something that you actively hear. I’ve had the A1 for seven years, and I’ve never heard anything unusual. That said, I understand that the updated firmware warms up the sound a bit, bringing it a little closer to A2.

 

Ehm, don't think the GS firmware works with the A2 boards. Each board has their own firmware with the A1 having two.
I'm sure @schiit can confirm.

 

The GS firmware does not work with the A2 boards, nor is there any need for users to update the firmware on the A2 boards. Everything on the A2 boards is good to go.

 

How does one tell if you have the A1 or GS ROM?

 

The ROM chip with the GS firmware says YD218 on it.
