No FPS, but RTS games are a possibility. I haven't been playing much lately, but you never know when the urge to get competitive again will rear its ugly head.

I'm definitely going optical over laser, but haven't been paying attention to the specific sensors.

The Logitech G502 looks pretty dumb and inelegant, but I quite liked the G500. It's probably a very good mouse.

Yep. I didn't use it for FPSes, but it was good for anything else. The mouse itself was well-built and was great for normal computer usage. My wife still misses the ability to click the scroll wheel to unlock it so you can scroll up and down pages super quickly.

Yeah I still have hyperscrolling on my MX Master, definitely nice for scrolling through long pdf files! If only it worked for bunnyhopping in FPS games :p

Oh, don't get me wrong, I don't like anything about the G502 except the sensor, but the sensor is like heaven. I don't think a high precision sensor makes that much of a difference for RTS, I know it didn't make a damn difference when I played MOBA's competitively for couple of years.

I really can't imagine it being -that- much better than any other sensor without acceleration or angle-snapping (like any 3090 or 3310). Not enough to justify having to buy that ugly thing anyway.

 Color management! I got my K70 a few months before they introduced their Rainbow version, so mine is Red, More Red, or Bright Red!

Haha yeah, I don't care about it too much, but it helped sell my wife on it since she thought it was "pretty" :p

I have the keys lighting up as I press them and must admit...it's kind of fun. :p

After buying the G502 I recommend against it, even if the sensor is great.

    - Terrible cable, reminds me of those laces with shiny exteriors you'd find on $10 'dress' shoes. Holds any sort of kink it in until you physically try to straighten it, in which case it will just form to however you have the cable running to your PC
    - Uncomfortable in the hand, Left and Right click buttons are really thin and leave little room for your fingers, the additional buttons next to Left click are more of an inconvenience than anything.
    - Mousewheel is really far back, maybe I'm just too used to Mionix mice now but having to move my finger back up to use the mousewheel sucks. Maybe it's a small point but it makes a world of difference to me.
    - Bloated software, expected from Logitech though
    - Not sure if it was just faulty, but because the mouse feet are so small the magnetic bottom shell that comes off to reveal the slots for additional weights sits flush with them and as a result, makes their movement on my mousepad really rough and even scratched and left marks when I was trying out the 'surface optimization'. Was much smoother when I used it with this part removed completely.

On the bright side the sensor was again, wonderful and the mousewheel had a solidness to every click. Plus all of the clicks and especially the mousewheel were very responsive, found myself hitting bunnyhops in CS much easier.

Too many faults and too uncomfortable to use to justify these though, so on sale it goes.

Logitech's design aesthetic definitely took a hard turn at some point, and it seems to be encroaching on form and functionality to a degree... I've always been a fan of their mice because they just felt better on my hand than anything else, and they have great costumer service (or had, dunno).

Not quite sure what I'll replace my older Logi mice with when they kick the bucket, probably end up trying a G502 or Corsair. I've got a palm grip tho and it didn't gel well with either of Corsair's original models, haven't looked at them since forever tho, shoot, probably since I got my original K90.

Not sure if you have bought a new mouse yet or not but after trying a good few mice (couple naga's, logitech G600, deathadder 2013) I decided on the Zowie FK1. Other than being super comfortable and having and excellent sensor, one of the big selling factors of the mouse for me is that it requires no drivers! The mouse that I was using right before this one was the Razer DeathAdder 2013 with a Razer Blackwiddow and the drivers drove me nuts. Now with my FK1 and my Flico Majestouch 2 TKL that require no drivers I am a happy guy.

The one other thing that will affect your mouse choice is grip style and hand size. I use a bit of a palm/ claw hybrid and my hand is about 19.5 cm so while this is works very well for my style it might not work the best for you.

If you need to have something that is RGB I have heard good things about the Mionix mice. Overall you just want to make sure you get one with a nice optical sensor, don't fall into the super high laser dpi hype!

I have a hybrid grip of sorts as well. Not really sure what to call it. My palm definitely does not rest on the mouse, but I also don't arch my fingers in an extreme way like you would with a pure claw grip.

The Death Adder is serving me fine for now, but I have to admit I'm a sucker for branding. I like to pick a brand for a purpose and stick to it, which gives the new Corsair Sabre RBG a lot of appeal.

We'll see how it goes. I'm in no hurry. Really wish there were a place to try them out.

I've always been a fan of simple mice. The MX518 was perfect imo.

If you like simple than the Zowie line will suit you. Solid, simple mice, with a great sensor, and no drivers. Like I was saying before I've been very happy with my FK1, I would definitely buy another Zowie mouse.

I agree on the Zowie's. I had an EC2 which was a nice mouse but a little big for me. It felt like a slightly bigger version of my Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical. I was going to exchange it for the EC1 but ended up getting the Logitech G303 instead. The G303 is a bit of a flatter design but I find the shape to be very comfy for my hybrid claw style.

Off Topic: Luckbad Get me into the Overwatch Beta! :)

On Topic: I use a Mionix PC Gaming Mice(NAOS-8200), does not have the best build quality, but no other mouse fits my hand so well. I liked the Death Adder 2013 also.

I have a Logitech G303 that was given to me from a friend, seems similar to the Zowie in that it's minimal and LED driven. I like that I can change the LED of the G303, that's cool.

I know that feeling, I was hoping that I was going to get into the one for Friday, but it looks like I will have to wait until the end of the month for the actual beta to start. At least I can get in a couple days early with that one since I preordered. It's not to often that I preorder any more (thanks BF4 launch), but Blizzard always puts out a solid product from release so I felt safe preordering it this time, not to mention the betas and even alpha were quite polished from what I saw (my brother was in on those).

Sorry for the OT. The G303 sounds fairly similar to the FK1 as its a pretty flat design (which I am a fan of).
