They're DD iems so no BA timbre. They are absolutely neutral across the entire FR. Bass, vocals, treble, is all glorious. There are no peaks of any kind in the upper mids or treble.
AND they have TOTL full size headphone technicalities. Yes, full size headphone technicalities. I feel like these would compete with or possibly better the Focal Clear og on an amp ike the Stratus. Even straight out of an iPod. The resolution and clarity and soundstage is jaw dropping.
Really good. I keep thinking there must be a weakness, but I haven't found one yet. It's not for bassheads, the bass is neutral, but very high quality IME so far.
Will wait for longer term impressions. Interesting on how the table/air portion is, along with dynamics. Heard it was a step back from the old zen for frequency response…but been excited for this one
Treble extension is great. And they passed the “Doin So t Right” bass test with flying colors which I believe is the SBAF reference. Still investigating I haven’t used all my test tests yet.
Their lack of sensitivity is also awesome. I’ve got them plugged into my Liquid Fire right now wity only very minor intermittent noise only audible between tracks. Sounds awesome.
I’m not one to hype gear ever. But I’m blown away here. Considering a big change in my iem rig after just a day.
I WANT TO BELIEVE... but the original Zen was not particularly "pro" at anything. Otherwise, going to keep an open mind, looking forward to your long-term impressions. I'll be a Dunu shill if they've brought us the next great DD iem... for under a G.
I have the Zen here too but haven’t listened to it yet. But the Pro has a different driver that they actually put a lot of effort into making better it’s quite different. It’s not just marketing.
