Prep is no fun for anyone, however my elder cat decided to let me know his litter box was in great need of attention by dragging his cat cave to the room center an urinating in it at 0130, right at the height of my Olympic 10M dash to the loo events.
So my poor wife only was able to get 3 hrs sleep with all the yelling and activity to clean a litter box, clean up the cat cave, prevent leakage to the carpet all while making periodic runs to the loo. No sleep for me that night.
Then day of the procedure things were going to plan until upon entering the surgery suite there was a delay. About an hour while the technician was attempting to cajole a video card into communicating with a second computer for electronic records recording of the procedure. They were not successful. Plan B was to send me to another suite with a functioning system.
However the electronic records system would not allow transfer of my records after they had been opened in a specific suite. So eventually the decision was made to manually document the procedure, the old fashioned way. The procedure went well but it took several days for the multiple sedatives to reach half life. I've been a bit out of it from sleep deprivation and anesthesia.
Bob, You are quite a bit younger than he was at the time, but you might enjoy my friend's father's remark that, at his age, conversations with others tended to be "organ recitals." :)
@joch the cat is doing fine. Litter vendor changed formulation and it would stink when wet. We changed to another vendor / type and Emmett is much happier as are we. No more drastic displays of desparation.
@Cryptowolf biopsy results won't be available until next week but Doc was inclined to believe they were benign.
@Wilson - thank-you. Tonight's reward is a great bottle of Mark Ryan The Dissident and grilled steak. I don't care if it's raining. The grillin' must go on. Later a listening session with Polyphia albums my son gave me on Spring 2/3, Studio B Linlai E300 and HD800-JAR.
