I've had those. Probably the reason I don't use IEMs much anymore.

Were you simultaneously amazed and disgusted by the size of the thing? I remember my own disbelief that something that large could occupy that space.

I have to have my ears mined at least once a year. Sadly, it no longer makes a big difference to my hearing, but it is still good to be rid of that stuff.

@Biodegraded The doctor didn't show me "the thing", just told me it was gone. I'm ok with that, bet it wasn't pretty.

This was my first wax plug, I've been using shallower inserting IEMs loads before. The Etys just travel so deep that it collected much more wax from the canal than "normal" IEMs, I think.

I suspect that using deep iems, or even a simple earplug, forces wax into the ear.

It doesn't just force it in, blocking the ears for long periods generates more wax.

That makes sense. Somehow!
