Does it run conventional Windows or Mac, or its own proprietary OS? I would consider RPi as long as my music playback softwares are compatible with it.
@songmic it runs a variety of free/open-source Pi-specific OSs that focus on digital audio and include software that support a number or music services/protocols. It becomes the “renderer” of the music file (feeding your DAC). Files can come from various locations (e.g. USB stick, networked DLNA server, Roon server, Tidal/Qobuz directly, Spotify Connect, Airplay etc). Different OSs support different options.
I was up until 2:30a listening to mine. WTH. So, of course the toddler wakes up at 6a lol. So I'm groggy af but can't wait to listen when it again tonight.
