My production pair sounds really off compared to my pre production pair. Something is amiss.

I couldn’t yank the Stride outta my ears fast enough. That treble is turrible.

I had a problem with one of the earbuds having the phase reversed. Drop told me that others have complained of the same problem.

Never thought I’d say this, but iPhone + NuForce Stride is not bad. Revealing enough to hear the improvement from stock player to Capriccio.

All jokes aside, and I was making an effort at levity above, IQ is just a measurement like any other— subject to skilled interpretation. It's honestly cool that you qualify for Mensa if your OP was sincere, but while the boost in confidence is always well-deserved, don't let a number on a page influence your perception of personal worth; you're more than that.

Here's another proverb for @songmic's day... It's not how big it is it's what you do with it that counts.

Sorry I can't match @Kunlun's literary flair and wisdom on this occasion!

Funny, Keysight, Tektronix, Fluke, BK Precision, etc never seem to run Black Friday specials. Oh well, guess it's better to spend the day using the stuff we already have for enrichment and enlightenment while sharing time with family and furry friends.

I hate it when companies advertise the output impedance of their headphone amps as such as 8-600 ohms. Who are they trying to fool?

Clearly they have no idea what output Z really means, or perhaps they are trying to hide the fact that their amps have a high output Z because it might scare away potential customers. Output Z is, in the literal sense, the impedance of the amp's output, NOT the range of the load (headphone) impedance that "the manufacturers think" would work well with their amps.

hi, did you ever get your 4 screw code X? I'm curious to how it compares to the 6 screw version
      1. songmic
        songmic
The HE-5/Code-X only comes in 4 screw version. It is the HE-6/Code-6 that comes in early 4 screw or late 6 screw versions.

We should start banning dotards who create a redundant 2nd, 3rd thread every f*cking time a Massdrop x ?? product is released.

Some forums have probation periods for new members where they don’t have certain priveladges like creating threads. I guess that’s an option for non contributors who are “rando” and “acquaintance” status

Maybe. Or maybe the mods (yes, I know, more work! Sorry) could just roll them up into a "Latest from Massdrop" thread.

Another maybe... ban the people on those threads who tell us what the thing is going to sound like.
