Not sure enough to hit the button, and I left these controversies behind years ago, but I think I dislike this.

But there is optimisation of multi-tasking machines for audio. My Linux PC is optimised for audio. Frankly, though, this does not so much improve the sound as make sure nothing interrupts it.

Yes, and perhaps (though not likely) @GoldfishX is using a gimped/overstressed/over tasked computer where an optimizer (I know nothing about "Fidelizer" specifically) helped...something...

I run Lasso and prioritize Roon core, HQPlayer, etc. because I run them on a multitasked general use computer, but this is nervosa all the way and would not make a difference 99% of the time. Mostly, it just keeps the UI responding 1.3% better...

Regular laptop. I'm reading the blog post and all I can say is with and without Fidelizer is a night and day difference. I've actually noticed a huge difference in switching from "high" priority to "realtime" within Fidelizer.

Not that I'm not open to other ideas, but just stressing the improvement is very very noticeable.

Maybe this Fidelizer has a tube emulating DSP and/or a pleasant U shape EQ by default? How would thread priortization and the like get "huge" differences otherwise?

I will bet you a taco that something like a Pi2AES or Digione Signature is much better yet than USB and whatever OS or software tweaks you try on the BF1 MB.

I'm not disputing there are better solutions, I'm saying I'm very pleased with the NOTICEABLE reduction in harsh digital noise and increase in openness and musicality from a program I decided to run on a whim and didn't cost me anything.
