Feel I've hit some synergistic magic with my current system. Still like reading impressions from this forum's members about all sorts of gear but my desire to buy more stuff is just gone. Not that I ever stopped primarily just enjoying music, but this pandemic winter is going to be awesome sauce thanks to this amp and Auteurs, Clears, and HD650K. Beeeeeewwwwwwwwmmmm
Saving money to buy an amazeballs AR-15... don't think there is a firearms thread anywhere on SBAF... I'm new to them in general, learning about the AR-15 platform is time consuming. Such a customizable rifle. Right now I'm leaning towards a BCM Recce 16 or Daniel Defense DDM4 V7.
I did not own the M-16 (AR-15), I had an AK-74 of the same caliber (American 5.56 mm is the Soviet 5.45 mm, the difference is only in the traditions of measuring the barrel)
This caliber is still weak. Although it allows you to increase the ammunition from 90 to 120 rounds at almost the same weight.
The barrels of the 5.45/5.56 caliber have a drawback, water does not flow out of it and can stand as a cork in the barrel. When fired with water in the barrel, the barrel may be inflated.
There is no water plug in the 7.62 caliber barrel, the water spreads over the mirror of the barrel.
If you only need a weapon for self-defense, take simple models without protruding parts, which are sure to cling to clothes, get lost and seriously reduce the speed of the shooter. Optical sights are also not necessary, in self-defense there is no slow shooting from long distances.
I like both 7.62x51 and 5.56. I'm not sure what the caliber has to do with the lining of the barrel though. Both my L1A1 and my AR-15 have chrome-lined barrels. I guess as far as military arms go, if an armed force was using non-corrosive ammunition then they wouldn't 'need' a chrome-lined barrel, but in the aftermarket it's kinda moot, since you can get replacement barrels for most popular stuff.
Oh! Cartridge 7, 62x51 is a very powerful cartridge. With a good rifle, the bullet of this cartridge pierces the railway rail not only across, but also along)
