    These are early 1960s 6n3p-e's. Similar to 2c51 / WE396a's. I run many 6n3p's in my MJ2. But these early ones start up differently with a very loud hum. They also have a second hum after the muting relay disengages, and create clicking in headphones.

    While these are the first tubes I have truly loved, I am also worried they're going to kill my amp or headphones.

    Compared to later 6n3p-e's, the internal construction is a little different with more glowing heater element exposed.

    Probably oscilating like mad if the amp wasn't built with it in mind. Only a scope would tell you more.
