worth it if you can afford it! silver amorphous has a deeper soundstage, more resolve, greater microdynamics/microdetail, and greater "color/vibrancy" than regular amorphous
I use silver amorphous transformers in the 3F and it elevated the performance up a few steps as mentioned above. Though in the 3F the transformers are input transformers and were significantly cheaper-- $1500 for a pair.
When I was a hobby jeweller, silver was about 3 GBP an ounce, now I think it is about 16GBP. A bit more for pure silver.
I love silver. I think it is so beautiful, even though one can make nice things out of copper too. I don't believe electrons share my preferences, so count me dissenting, but hey, it's your cash, guys!
again, the pull of silver is its 200% sensitivity to magnetic flux, not so much its slightly lower resistance. that's why silver transformers >> copper transformers, whereas silver wire >= copper wire
