Hah! Guess there's just a plethora more fancy baking videos floating around now where the top need be crisped up that loads of people are getting it into their heads. We do have a long lighter similar to that, but the flame doesn't go far out enough to avoid pressing against whatever need be crisped

Don't get the cheapest one. That was exactly what I got and it stopped working after a year even though I took good care of it

As a concentrate (cannabis) enthusiast we've got the best torches...I'd recomend the Vector Nitro, same price as good kitchen torches but passes the ultimate test of standing up to daily use by stoners

Get a good torch, and you'll be set to do silver/gold soldering on the side.

How dare you not like baked sushi, @gixxerwimp! But now that I think about it this is likely going to be somewhat more economical and less of a hassle than using a broiler. Eh, would def rather spend on audio gear or PC components.

Also, I don't think I'll be wanting a torch that goes quite that hot for fear of melting my walls, @Thad E Ginathom :P
