auteur has great synergy with the 3f, you could honestly call it quits with that system synergy and be very happy for a very long time (if you can, though, I highly recommend trying at least one focal with the 3f, the synergy with focals is really fantastic)
@pure5152 This being the headphone endgame has always been the plan, glad it is living up to the hype on first listen. I could see liking the nickel transformers though based on impressions. LIM+amorphous combo working though. Embarrassing admission...have never heard a focal, will have to give it a go.
The 3F and Focal Clear is a fantastic combination. I never liked the Clears, but on the 3F it was magic. Another great pairing is the TH900! Now I am looking for a good deal on some Focal Elex as they were my preferred lower end Focal
Auteur + 3F is indeed a very special combo. Sometimes I wonder why I ever moved on from it, just absolutely amazing synergy and a smooth but engaging sound.
I need me a 3F! Really enjoying the Quicksilver + Auteur, but all this synergy talk is tempting me big time. Probably for the best these amps are so hard come by.
Doug is apparently collaborating with CEE_TEE to manufacture the 3F at a more affordable price point sometime in the future, so that may be something to look forward to :O
