Playing it two weeks made me a complete coward. Now I prioritize safety over heroic movements. Not attacking enemies until I am 105% sure I won't die. I even watch some YT videos to learn how to perfectly survive (which I usually refrain myself from doing)
I'm filling in time by watching other people play it in the background and it's gobsmacking how dense the world is with things to find, not to mention how it actually feels like a real world and not some facsimile thereof (which FromSoft's always been good with going back to Armored Core IMO).
I embrace dying. Spent over 1hr fighting The Tree Sentinel right out of the tutorial zone, when I had absolutely no business in doing so, because it was the first cool thing I saw and I wanted to figure out fight mechanics. 40 hrs into the game, I wouldn't be surprised if lost up to 6 figures in runes so far for being reckless and careless.
@dirtyunderwear This is the way! I'm a bit of a balance. If I have enough runes that I'm close to leveling or making a purchase I need, I will go rune farming until I can get the thing I need. Going into the tougher sections of the game I try to keep my rune count down so if I die a lot, I'm not losing too much.
this game is huuuuuuuuuuge. I love it and got almost 100 hours by now but imo the quest system/design needs an update for how bigger the world has now become.
