I assume it has to do with my 100+ year old house, but I do have a CMX2 for DC blocking plus an Isobar for other noise (in theory).

Never makes any noise here with a Yggdrasil, Freya+ and Lyr. Never heard anything with Saga and Freya-s in the past either. 230V and a house from the 60's so ymmv.

Currently happening with a Jot2, but remembering it happen with a Gungnir as well.

Strange. Just when starting or stopping music, or switching to a song with a different bit rate. (This is with Schiit dacs). No clicks with any amps in the past, including Lyr 1, 2, 3, vali, magni...

Any other devices in the house maybe doing something when it happens?

Yes, my Saga and a BK power amp both click on occasion. I live in a 50 year old house and my headphone rig on filtered power does not have his problem.

The headphone rig has a CMX2 and a toroidal power conditioner to even out the poor AC. Gotta love old farmhouses.

Schiit DACs will click because of relays that will click depending on the bitrate. This is normal and nothing to worry about

Gungnir Multibit clicks every bitrate change and also when I hit the input change button

Jot 2 will click a couple times about a minute after shutdown

I think @fraggler is referring to random clicks not due to bitrate change. I get clicks when other stuff is turned on/off, both up/downstream. Not fully random, but not standard behaviour.

The Mjolnir 2 case 'clicks' while warming up and cooling down.
