OG Andro likes slightly higher output impedance, but not too much. Low output Z with OG Andro sounds bassy.

ahh. ok that makes sense. was trying it out of the Xduoo XD-05 and it was way too bassy. with the Shanling m6 '21 it was ok but just kinda dull and artificial sounding. with 6s things started to come alive.

i did just plug it into my iFI Nano BL though, i think this might be the one i go with using the the IE match.

also using the final audio type-E tips. these seem to get me the seal i want. tried to use spiral dots but can't get a good seal with them.

The Final E type tips just work. Spiral Dot++es are close, but they do work themselves loose eventually with me. I wish there were a Final E with a wide bore similar to the JVCs.

And yeah the treble is a bit harsh, maybe because ESS I'm not sure, but I've got the Andro 2020s out of a BTR7 Bal out which is 2.8ohms. Works well.

Could a lot of differing reviews IEMs have been because of equipment variables from one reviewer to another? It makes me wonder.
