Denis Villeneuve can't be stopped

Have not seen Pt 2 yet, but looking forward to it. Sicario is still my fave of his so far.

I would be hard pressed to choose between Blade Runner 2049, Dune 1 and Dune 2 as my favorite. That said, Prisoners, Sicario and Arrival are all also fantastic. Ive probably seen Arrival more than the others combined.

I saw Dune in imax when it was rereleased, though I had seen it in the theater the first time. Amazing in imax. Can't wait to see Dune 2 on Tuesday in imax as well!

I saw it in the local dolby cinema, I should make the trek somewhere for the real Imax treatment though

I did not, I don't normally get food at the theater.

2049 has spectacular, unforgettable shots and its own aesthetic that does justice to the beauty of the original

I’m looking forward to it. The like hardcore cinephiles seem to be the only people that can’t get behind Villeneuve. I’m just happy someone that knows their way around the camera is interested in making hard sci-fi and Hollywood is willing to give him money to do it.

I can at least understand hardcore cinephiles not liking Nolan, even if I mostly disagree...not liking Villeneuve is baffling to me, its like they don't like it just cause he's made it pseudo-mainstream?

he makes art house science fiction that is just barely mainstream enough to get huge budgets and essentially tentpole film status. its kind of a miracle, and im here for it
