HERESY (jk, I adore how the Solaris handles low end but agree that the Andros, even out of less superlative sources, trounces it for responsiveness and "detail" there). About the only thing that the Solaris seems to have a decided lead over the Andros (per preferences) is staging-- actual imaging and headstage. Does the Fathom bring them any closer in that respect or nah?

OHHHH it's a new CA iem. I thought you were saying "fathom" as in "imagine". Nevermind about my BA post, everyone likes a different sound, this looks like a cool iem.

@Lyander I'll compare directly w/ Solaris OG this week at work. But briefly (~1hr) comparing Fathom directly to OG Andro via iBasso DCE, it's kind of crazy how Fathom is a like adding "EQ", but for slightly sharper image definition, less haze, and adding bass texture and extension; something you don't get by just shaping the frequency response with passive EQ.

@Lyander so far I'm preferring Fathom over both Solaris OG and Andro OG, headstage-wise. Fathom is slightly more extended, less foggy/hazy than Andro. Smoother, less peaky treble. Tonally overall, Fathom cuts right up the middle between Solaris DD bass rich and Andro upper mid-forward. All running out of iPhone-->iBasso DCE 4.4mm Bal.

My reading comprehension tanked again, I thought Fathom was gonna be a DAP, ergo my incredulity at how it improved Andro bass haha. Okay this is nice, might try get ears on one at local distro. I'm out of the nice IEM game considering my luck but would be fun to try.
