    indeed, my BW1 volume dial up a bit more. likely because PC-2XR is doing some reduction in dBu or dBV?
    don't mind at all since there is still gobs of headroom on the volume dial. (ie. can't listen past 10am on the dial with HE1K.)

    I'm guessing not. Many people were on the waiting list for a BW last year - only a few were lucky enough to get one. Sales were limited by product availability, not lack of demand.

    Hi all
    Im new in here and this is my first post, and generally new to the Audiophile equipments. After lots of reading i ordered the HD800 and just one day after sennheiser announced the 800s :confused: also after decided to get the BW now im confused about balanced input/output so if i order it balanced it will be now real balanced or just balanced to SE like the first version?

    Welcome to the club! Really, i'm in a similar boat--bought the hd800 secondhand only to read the 800S announcement very soon after. So I feel your pain.
    Have you gotten to try the 800 with your current equipment? I've found mine quite listenable (except for a few albums).

    No still cause shipping to my place is lots of headach. Used only a moded T50rp by ZMF with modi2/ magni2 but the modi stopped working on my mac because of a System uncompatibility so searching for another dac get me in all of this

    If you have Gungnir Multibit or Yggdrasil or a Vi DAC; something that sounds better out of the balanced output, get that option if you're willing to pay $300 for the incremental improvement in sound. Otherwise pass.

    If I was buying one for my Vi DAC I would. I might not for Gungnir Multibit because the difference in the outputs is more stark on the Vi DAC and more slight on the Gungnir Multibit. That's my personal value assessment.

    The BW balanced input is only there for convenience. It won't be true balanced.

    I don't understand your question. They are both coming out of roseville? It's not a factory. They get chassis, boards, and other parts shipped to their roseville facility and assemble there. It takes quite a bit of time to assemble and test each Vi DAC and weeks to put together each Da Vinci by hand.

    The Jensen didn't seem to diminish the sound quality. It's there for people who have sources that sound better via the balanced outs.

    Not everyone wants a ghetto jerry rigged extra box laying around though. And I find it funny that people on this site of all places are suddenly balking at $300 for a suggested 5% sonic improvement. That last % is where the magic lies anyway. How much is the Jensen contraption?

    So basically the balanced ins are a no-brainer for someone who might be seeking this as their endgame ss amp. Personally Ima prob just go SE as I plan on getting another ZD as well.
