Changstar Cheap Headphone Comparo Extravaganza!

Almost all of the regulars here have had one or still have one. Fun music sounds extra fun with these headphones so every time you want to buy the next best headphone, you glance at the PortaPro and think "is it worth it compared to the Koss?"

There are better headphones (even the 10 Dollar Monk Plus!) but the tone and the fun sound signature of the PortaPro makes it a keeper for me (and when you simply have to dance your ass off on that one bad day).

 

I agree, they're slammin' and just plain fun to listen to, not analyze.

 

I love a good cheap set of low-fi cans, I'd like to see how the HD 668B compares with others on the list

 

Pretty well I think. I had the 661 for review once. Superlux can make their headphones sound okay and even good. The modification potential is great.

 

I had Samson SR850, which should be almost identical with HD668B I think. They are really good headphones, especially for the price, BUT, they had a huge peak in highs. When EQ-ed they sounded really good, for that price at least.
