I don't understand this at all... I can see the headphones accidentally getting damaged, but then a tube? Was that a joke, or did he actually smash a tube? Or did he just smash the headphones into a tube and break both at the same time? It's like, "Gee sorry I accidentally broke the headphones... oh and look I just smashed a tube!"

Also, this thread caused me to have a dream last night that SBAF had an Orpheus loaner program, only when it shipped to me, all I had was one of the ear cups. LOL

Spares for the headband are readily available... easy fix. Not all that expensive unless you're buying them from a flipper.

I've essentially got a complete HE-60 in spares for just such an emergency! You know, because grandpa.

But, on this occasion, it seems that whoops sorry was enough.

Victim may have realized this was karma in action, whether it be for not shutting up his dog at night, embezzling state funds, or mixing melamine powder in baby formula. Although Chinese people may be petty in terms of perceived slights or grievances, Chinese people can also be pragmatic and wise, knowing when not to push one's "luck" or karma.

    No offense at all.

I am ethnically "Han" Chinese, although in truth I am also part Dutch, Portuguese, and Polynesian. One of my cousins in Taiwan looks like the dude who played Jango Fett. I have red, black, and white stubble. Go figure. I grew up in both western and eastern cultures. I like poking fun at both. Politically correctness will be the end western culture and democratic institutions if is it not reined in.

Ok, so neighbor is pissed off at the owner of the Orph, because _reasons_. So neighbor hires Old Dude, to wreck the Orph. Now Orph Owner, having just witnessed the damage done to his Orph, realizes that this is Karmic - ie, he figures he must have had it coming, so he just let's the incident go. So, basically man thinks Orph owner deserves to have his Orph wrecked, wrecks said Orph, and Orph owner agrees. Is this like a Chinese proverb?

Somewhere secret, right now, this grandpa is practising the karate chop that takes out marble-cased amplifiers.

It's probably not that difficult. It's making it look like a clumsy accident that is the really hard thing.

The trick is to target the table and not the amp, then they can blame ikea or whoever put the table together.

Of course, without the latex make-up, he's no grandpa. Next time, it will be a completely different grandpa.

Part of me is confused, so gramps sees the amp, decides it's best to weight lift it by the tubes. The tubes being hot i guess forced him to impale the headphones?

this grandpa was luckey that he was not charged for this, in normal life situation if you break something in the store or someone else you had to pay for it.and if you dont have enough money its turn into debt and you pay it in payments , in this case it can swallow his whole salary for year or two, and worse if he dosent want to pay is jail time. he got real luckey!
