Up for sale is Bottlehead's TOTL headphone amp, the Mainline. I hate to part ways with this beautiful amp, but most of my listening is now on speakers... so I hope a fellow SBAFer would provide her with a new home.

I am the second owner of this amp (since January 2016), and the original owner/builder of this amp has had many projects under his belt before assembling the Mainline. Below are pics of his impeccable build. It is pretty much stock, except the "coupling caps that have been upgraded to some high quality 10uf / 310VDC Teflons ($250 in value). They’ve settled and sound amazing."

I used the Mainline to drive my modded HD650 flawlessly, even though it was originally created for the HD800. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to message me.

PRICE: $950 (including CONUS shipping and paypal fees)
I'll throw in a balanced HD650 XLR cable for $25 additional if you wish to use the balanced outputs

I've actually got the same caps in mine, and it does sound amazing.

Interesting, I was just looking at these over the weekend and considering building one. The kit price (unbuilt) costs more than this! GLWS, and someone ought to snatch this up!!!

BTW, just curious, what are these nondescript "upgraded caps"? Who makes them?

Maybe some of the DIYers here can answer this, but I know they're RTI Teflon capacitors if that means anything to you.

Same caps in mine as well, and they do make for exquisite listening.

RTI is the OEM for most all of the boutique audio caps. http://www.apitech.com/rti-electronics This particular batch was reportedly rolled for [redacted] (the same type used in their megabuck signature preamp). The physical dimensions were apparently a little off, so this single batch was unloaded through TCtubes at the same time a number of us early adopters were building our mainlines and happened to be spec'd perfectly for the amp. AFAIK the only comparable teflon caps available to consumers are Vcaps at $700/ea.

Awesome. This is the amp he was looking for. Watch it give his dual mono block Questyle CMA800R setup a run for its money, particularly with the HD800. Grats buddy on the outstanding deal!

If this was 220v I would have been all over it. Great seller, too! Enjoy your amp!
